NEW DELHI: Heating up the competition in the Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) segment, General Motors ( GM) on Thursday launched the Chevrolet Enjoy at a starting price of Rs 5.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
While the petrol variant LS (8-seater) is priced at Rs 5.49 lakh, LS (7-seater) comes for Rs 5.64 lakh, LT (7-seater) for Rs 6.31 lakh and LTZ (7-seater) for Rs 6.99 lakh.
The diesel variants start at Rs 6.69 lakh for LS (8-seater), LS (7-seater) for Rs 6.75 lakh, LT (7-seater) for Rs 7.42 lakh and the top-spec LTZ (7-seater) is for Rs 7.99 lakh.
The MPV has been launched in six colours. It is powered by a set of petrol and diesel engines that are smaller than its bigger MUV rivals.
The engines, a four-cylinder 1.3-litre diesel motor and a four-cylinder 1.4 litre petrol motor developing 77.5PS and 104PS of power respectively, don’t boast of much performance but where they should stand out is on the economy front. Both engines are mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
Chevrolet Enjoy MPV will take on everything from the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga to the likes of the Toyota Innova. The Enjoy is smaller than likes of Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo and Nissan Evalia but larger than the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
It boasts of no-frills interior that offers basic comforts like power steering, power windows, a stereo and air conditioning even on the top-end
LTZ variant. Safety features aboard the Enjoy LTZ include anti-lock brakes, electronic brake force distribution and dual front airbags.
The Enjoy’s spacious cabin can seat seven or eight people depending on the middle row being specced with a bench seat or captain seats. (Source: ET)
