Luxury shoe brand John Lobb to take its first step into India, plans entry with its Rs 6-lakh shoes

john-lobb-showroomLuxury shoe brand John Lobb set for India foray: John Lobb, a premier English handmade-to-measure shoe maker since 1849, has tied up with Mumbai-based Regalia Luxury for distribution and retail of its bespoke shoes in India. A top executive at the company said the brand will begin its India foray with ‘on request’ shoes priced between Rs 45,000 and Rs 6 lakh a pair. It will later open exclusive stores in the country. Now owned by French luxury house Hermes Group, John Lobb has designed and made shoes for the rich and famous of the likes of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Aristotle Onassis and George Bernard Shaw.

“We have been carefully following the developments in India over the past years and now that we have found the right partner, we consider this is the perfect time for us,” Thomas Collette, commercial director for Europe, Middle East and India at John Lobb, told ET. He said the brand has a common history with India, dating back to the early 1900’s when members of Indian royal families were its clients.
