The Heinrich BÃ¶ll Foundation, a German organisation, has announced scholarships for approximately 1,000 undergraduates, graduates, and doctoral students of all subjects and nationalities per year. Scholarship amount varies and may also include family and/or childcare allowance, health insurance or similar.
For undergraduate and graduate applicants, those who are non-EU nationals and students not educated in Germany, the amount is â‚¬750 per month, plus â‚¬ 100 mobility allowance per month, plus various individual allowances.
At the doctoral level, non-EU nationals and students not educated in Germany, the amount is â‚¬1,000 per month, plus â‚¬ 100 mobility allowance per month, plus various individual allowances.
The scholarships are open to students who are pursuing their degree at universities, universities of applied sciences (â€˜Fachhochschulenâ€™), or universities of the arts (â€˜Kunsthochschulenâ€™) in Germany. Scholarship recipients are expected to have excellent academic records, to be socially and politically engaged, and to have an active interest in the basic values of the foundation: ecology and sustainability, democracy and human rights, self determination and justice.
International students of all subjects in a masterâ€™s programme, who gained their university entrance qualification from a school outside of Germany and who would like to study in Germany. Applicants must have already obtained a first university degree.
For doctoral scholarship (PhD), preference will be given to dissertation projects related to the working areas of the Heinrich BÃ¶ll Foundation. Good or very good knowledge of German is a requirement. The selection workshops are generally held in German. If a scholarship is granted, additional German language courses can be financed.
